Local made gifts £20 or less

Good Craic Gifts in Rostrevor is packed full of all sorts of fun gift ideas and they don't have to break the bank! Here is a load of locally made gift ideas that all cost £20 or less.

Do you know someone learning Irish or already fluent? Perhaps they would like one of these 2024 Irish Desk Calanders aka feilire deisce [£12]. They are designed in Belfast by Connect the Dots Design and each month features an Irish saying.

Or if you are looking for jewellery I have dichroic earrings [£12.50] and pendants [£20] from Ballybrick Glass and Clay over near Katebridge or gorgeous wooden earrings [£17.50] from Wild Earth Studios in Belfast. Talented local makers creating wonderful gifts.

Frances from Ballybrick Glass and Clay also makes a range of glass soap dishes [£15]. There are celtic designs, fun quotes or plain but beautiful glass. She also makes these quirky standing [£15] or hanging [£12.50] glass birds. Talking of decorations, brand new to Good Craic are these gorgeous hand crafted felt squirrels [£15]!!!! They are made by Ciara Rooney in Warrenpoint. I've only 4 left so you'll need to move fast if you want one.

Now let's talk candles. I've a few different local brands. Lasair [£18] are my premium brand. Peter has created a wonderful range of scents including Irish Fire, think turf fire, and Lemon and Rose, apparently the scent of the handsoap on the Titanic. Another range is made by Our Wee Candle Co [£11.95] in Attical. Some great local fragrances such as Mourne Mist, Donard Dew and Cranfield Beach. Or for something completely different check out Flickering Cuppa Candles [prices very from £9.50 to £20]. These are made by Martina who was inspired by her late monthers china tea set collection. She repurposes old tea cups as candles and packages them beautifully with a wee jar of matches and everything. Her attention to detail makes these a stunning and unique gift.

Many visitors to my shop comment on how nice it smells. Part of that is the fabulous range of Wild About Soap products that I stock but I also have one of these lovely Lasair Oil Diffusers [£20] open. I'm currently enjoying the Rhubarb and Plum one but I have a range of scents for sale. Moving on but also on the topic of feeling cosy I have 2 more pairs of handknitted socks [£15.50 or £16.50] made over Kilkeel direction. There is also a great range of socks from two Irish companies in stock but they are not so local so haven't included pictures or prices here. I have just a few of these hand decorated journals [£14] by McKenna here in Rostrevor.

There's loads more I could mention but let me finish by telling you that I have a fun range of these paper quilling art pieces in small frames [£15] and some in larger frames [prices vary]. This fun art involved tightly rolling lots of coloured strips of paper then glueing them to form pictures. Karen is great at it. I also, finally, have not one but two makers of pottery mugs! There are large bulbous ones made by Dagmara of Shannon Crafts [£19.95] which come in a variety of colours. There is also a range made by Eek Pottery in Newry [£20] some of which have fun Narnia or Rostrevor sayings stamped along the base.

I'm hoping to do another post shortly to highlight the many gifts I have in the £10 or less range such as lip balms, tattoo balm, glass or pottery Christmas decorations and more but for now I'll sign off. Please come and browse when you can and if I can help by arranging to post you any of these items please don't hesitate to get in touch.
